WINEMAKER'S NOTES
The 2017 vintage was a roller coaster of a vintage. The growing season saw wide swings of temperature and weather. April was unseasonably warm, May and June were much cooler than usual and rainy, along with spells of perfect conditions. The cool spring put the brakes on growth. July brought warmer, humid weather mixed with some gorgeous blue skies and sunny, dry breezy weather. The dry weather continued in August. September and October were much warmer than usual and presented a series of up and down patterns with beautiful days mixed with unwanted tropical weather including the threat of Hurricane Jose on September 19.

WINE DESCRIPTORS

ABOUT THE WINERY: PAUMANOK VINEYARDS
Founded in the spring of 1983, our 127 acre estate is entirely owned and managed by Ursula and Charles Massoud, and our three sons. Born and raised in the "Old World", wine has always been a part of our lives and we continue the tradition at Paumanok Vineyards. Only premium vinifera grapevines are planted, consisting of Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The traditional dense planting of the vineyards at 1100 to 1400 vines per acre produces more concentrated fruit and therefore higher quality wines. For our wines, only estate grown grapes are used and production is limited to fewer than 12,000 cases.

CRITIC'S NOTES
Come and dive in the Mediterranean ocean on a warm day! This wine is all you can expect from a perfect and relaxing day in the French riviera. Friendly, fun, full of flavor and refreshing. The bright acidity is very well balanced with the sweet flavors of the red cherries, plums and juicy apples, a hint of white roses and quince to complete this delicious wine.Even so, it is a light wine perfect for chilling in the balcony or at the pool. I was very surprised by the length in the palate, very food friendly can pair with varied dishes. Try salads, grilled fish, sushi, chicken or pizza! All pairs are perfect with this rose. Then take a bottle and just enjoy!

OUR SOMELIER REVIEW
North Fork is the most significant viticultural area in Long Island, with a maritime climate the growing season is much longer that inland and the grapes can ripe long and steady, meaning, good quality wines.
Riesling has been an important grape in the area for many years, and this wine is a good example of that.
This bottle has classical petrol like notes in the nose, the refreshing aromas of citrus, lemon zest, oranges, white apricot, apples and the touch of white flowers.
The palate is refreshing and the little CO2 remaining makes the tongue tingle, balancing the residual sugar content. Is a good wine to pair with spicy food, like Indian or Moroccan cuisine.
