ST. JULIAN COMTESSE DUCHATEL 750 ml

In the heart of the Médoc between Margaux to the south and Pauillac to the north, on the left bank of the Garonne, the Saint-Julien appellation of origin is one of the elite among the great appellations of the Bordeaux region. There are no less than 11 Grands Crus Classés 1855, which produce almost 80% of the total production of the appellation. The vines are planted on gently sloping terraces facing the river, mainly composed of alluvial gravel. Here Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme. If it is the majority, this grape variety is most often blended with Merlot.

WINEMAKER'S NOTES

The robe of the young wine presents a beautiful color of a dark and deep ruby, which takes on garnet reflections with age. The aromatic palette is fine, intense and complex - with several successive layers of aromas which are revealed as the aeration progresses: small berries (blueberry, blackberry) then prune and scents from the systematic aging in wood. (toast, coffee, cigar box). Tenderness and finesse define the velvety palate, with a dense and full body carried by deep and supple tannins.
